Nusantara Regas Pay Attention to Marine Biota in the Ocean of Kepulauan Seribu

KEPULAUAN SERIBU - On 19 December 2016, Nusantara Regas drown 145 fish habitats in Pramuka Island, Kepulauan Seribu. This program is part of Nusantara Regas CSR activities done the second time this year. Through the help of this activity, it is expected that the ecosystem around Kepulauan Seribu is enlivened by the beautiful marine biota such as corals and fishes that will attract visitors and increase ecotourism.

As delivered by the Vice-Regent of Kepulauan Seribu Herman on his opening speech, "We all realize, that currently the tourists may it be foreign and domestic is attracted and always wanted to come back to the nature. If the nature has already offered a beautiful ecosystem, our job is to preserve and increase its quality so the nature will still be preserved its sustainability."

According to him, this nature beauty itself can be utilized as an ecotourism and open employment for local people and it will enhance economy for the citizen of the island.

Meanwhile, President Director of Nusantara Regas Tammy Meidharma said, Nusantara Regas as part of the community of Kepulauan Seribu realized that the task to maintain and increase the quality of environment is part of the performance of Nusantara Regas.

“If during this time we run our operational with safety so that it will be eco-friendly, this time we will take part in increasing the quality of the environment by supporting the ecotourism activities in Kepulauan Seribu. We hope that our support  will give positive impact for the environment of Kepulauan Seribu not only for its marine ecosystem but also to the community that will feel the effect of the increased tourism in Kepulauan Seribu," he explained.

In the drowning ceremony, the event attended by management of Nusantara Regas, the district officials of Kepulauan Seribu, public figures, Indonesia Fisherman Association and tour guide of Kepulauan Seribu.

All the fishermen and tour guide is involved as the network to maintain fish houses as well as the target education about the importance of preserving new fish habitat to be always sterilized for fisheries activities and tourism for a full year during the growth process and nursing of the fish colonies.
