Procuring Liquefied Natural Gas/LNG supply, both from within or outside the country. Next is the sales of LNG regasification product (hereinafter known as Gas).

The presence of the Company is specifically aimed to provide gas supplies to the centers of PLN’s power plants and a number of industry players in West Java. The process of gas distribution to the power plant conducted by the Company broadly included FSRU, subsea transmission pipelines, and Onshore Receiving Facilities (ORF).

Floating Storage & Regasification Unit (FSRU)

LNG from LNG Carrier is moved to FSRU Nusantara Regas Satu, which is a modification from LNG Khannur transporter vessel. The facility is owned and operated by Golar LNG Energy Limited. Liquefied natural gas LNG carrier is moved into the FSRU tanks through two loading arms, and then flown to regasification unit to be changed the phase from liquid to gas. This regasification process, uses sea water as the main heater media in an open cycle.

In addition, the process also uses propane as the supporting heater media pemanas in a closed cycle. Gas resulted by this regasification process has a pressure at 55 bar and the temparature at 25 degrees with the same chemistry composition as LNG.

Onshore Receiving Facilities (ORF)

The gas was received in the Onshore Receiving Facility (ORF), then distributed to PLN power plant di Muara Karang. On 1 September 2013, PT Nusantara Regas in cooperation with PHE ONWJ optimized the utilization of the PHE ONWJ network facility to supply Gas to PLN Tanjung Priok. With the completion of Phase II project in October 2014, the Company was able to distribute gas to the PLN power plant Tanjung Priok through the ORF facility belong to PHE ONWJ up to 200 MMSCFD.

By using gas PLN can reduce BBM subsidy from government up to trillions of Rupiah. In early stage, the period of 2012-2013, the subsidy saving was up to Rp7.98 trillion. The savings continue to grow in subsequent year. In addition, the gas is also expected can be utilized by industry in the West Java area.

LNG Plant

In the business course, Company accepts LNG to be redistributed to customers. In 2015, Company received supply from Bontang Refinery, East Kalimantan belong to PSC Mahakam and Tangguh, Papua, belong to BP Berau Ltd. The total supply received from those two refineries during 2015 reached 80,407,251 MMBTU consists of 23 standard cargoes from Bontang, 5 standard cargoes from Tangguh.

LNG Carrier

Liquefied natural Gas from refinery was transported using LNG Carrier “Aquarius” with transport capacity of 125,000 m3 to the location FSRU Jawa Barat. The use of LNG Aquarius has complied with cabotage principle where domestic transportation vessel in Indonesia must be flagged Indonesia. Up to the end of 2015, there were operational disruptions.

Sub-sea Transmission Pipelines

Subsea transmission pipelines are gas delivery channel from the regasification process in FSRU. The gas is distributed through subsea pipeline network with 24 inches diameter as long as 15 kilometer length from FSRU to Onshore Receiving Facilities (ORF) in Muara Karang.
